Elks National Foundation 2012 Legacy Awards due Feb. 1
Is someone in your lodge eligible to apply for an ENF Legacy Award?
A child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2009, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2009 may apply for this award. The Elk sponsor must also be a paid-up member through March 31, 2012. Great-grandchildren are not eligible.
Here is a quick test of eligibility
Are you a high school senior?
If your parent and grandparent are both Elk members, you should apply through the parent's Elks Lodge.
Are you planning to attend an accredited U.S. school, college or university? (Note: Applicants from Guam, Panama, Puerto Rico and the Philippines may apply Legacy Awards toward schools, colleges or universities in their respective homes.)
Do you plan to take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Test (ACT) by December 31, 2011?
If you answered yes to all the questions above, you can now register to start the application process. Your application must be submitted no later than 12 p.m. (noon) Central Time on February 1, 2012. Click on www.elks.org and look for the Scholarship link for additional information.
The Elks National Foundation is not responsible for any technical errors that may arise as you complete and submit your application. We especially encourage you to upload required documents early, even if you aren't ready to submit your application. In addition, it is in your best interest to submit your application early to avoid any last minute web traffic problems. If your application is received after the contest deadline, it will be ineligible, regardless of the reason for late submission.
Legacy Awards winners will be announced in April 2012.
